Acure Farm Collection Avocado Oil & Peppermint Bar Soap 113 g olive-green flecked bar beside its light green paper box Post-Workout Ice Bar
Acure body care

Peppermint Bar Soap

A hard, creamy, honestly built cold-process bar that delivers a real menthol chill rather than a minty suggestion of one, and does exactly what Acure says it does: wakes up oily, resilient skin after a run or a hot night for eight dollars. It stings on anything tender, strips anything dry and has no business near a face. Buy it for the shock, not the skincare.

Acure Simply Smoothing Conditioner 8 fl oz bottle Rich Silicone-Free Smoother
Acure hair care

Simply Smoothing Conditioner

The richest conditioner in Acure's range, with ten plant oils and butters over a fatty-alcohol base and panthenol fourth in the list, and a good silicone-free smoother for coarse and wavy hair at ten dollars. Its cationics are low, so it coats more than it binds, fine hair will feel it as weight, and the clove-and-citrus essential-oil scent, left on for minutes and applied by hand, makes it the wrong choice for reactive scalps.

Acure Simply Smoothing Shampoo 8 fl oz bottle Rich Sulfate-Free Smoother
Acure shampoo

Simply Smoothing Shampoo

The richest of Acure's sulfate-free shampoos, with seven oils in the list and two cationic polymers that do the real smoothing, and a good wash for coarse, wavy and frizz-prone hair at ten dollars. Fine hair will feel it as weight, the marula and coconut water are mostly rinsed away, and the clove-and-citrus essential-oil scent makes it the wrong choice for a reactive scalp.

Acure Farm Collection Avocado Oil & Thyme Bar Soap 113 g pale khaki speckled bar beside its olive-green paper box Herb Garden Bar
Acure body care

Thyme Bar Soap

The best-smelling and least forgiving bar in Acure's Farm Collection: a well-made cold-process loaf with a farm avocado superfat, perfumed with six essential oils of which thyme is only the fifth. For oily, unreactive skin that wants an earthy herb-garden bar it is a pleasure at eight dollars; for anyone whose skin has ever objected to fragrance, it is the one to leave on the shelf.

Acure Ultra Hydrating Conditioner 8 fl oz bottle Light Silicone-Free Conditioner
Acure hair care

Ultra Hydrating Conditioner

A light, silicone-free cream conditioner that detangles and softens fine-to-medium dry hair well for ten dollars, with fatty alcohols and panthenol doing more of the work than the argan oil on the label. Coarse and very damaged hair will find it thin, and the cassia-and-benzaldehyde scent makes it a poor pick for a reactive scalp; within its lane it is a sound everyday conditioner.

Acure Ultra Hydrating Shampoo 8 fl oz bottle Mild Drugstore Wash
Acure shampoo

Ultra Hydrating Shampoo

A mild, well-lathering, sulfate-free shampoo for dry and colour-treated hair whose real merit is an efficient surfactant blend and a cationic guar, not the argan oil and eight fruit extracts on the label. At ten dollars for eight ounces it is a sensible everyday wash; the benzaldehyde scent means it is not fragrance-free, and very oily scalps will find it too gentle.

Acure Vivacious Volume Conditioner 236 mL pale sage tube Feather-Weight Conditioner
Acure hair care

Vivacious Volume Conditioner

A light, silicone-free conditioner built with a deliberately small dose of cationic conditioners so fine hair comes out soft and still stands up. Panthenol adds a little body, the olive ester supplies slip, and the price is ten dollars. It conditions fine hair well and anything coarser poorly, the mint oils belong nowhere near a sensitive scalp, and the echinacea on the label does nothing at all.
