Here is the botanical fact the whole brand hangs on: a cut tulip refuses to die quietly. Severed from its bulb and dropped in a vase, it keeps elongating, sometimes a few centimeters over a week, bending toward the light as if it never got the memo. That stubborn post-harvest vitality is what first sent the founder hunting for what, exactly, was still working inside the stem.
Before tulips, her world was global beauty marketing. She ran sales and marketing for a major personal-care company in New York, then started her own agency, First Impact Beauty, advising beauty startups on retail strategy, the sort of operator who knew exactly how a brand gets built before she had one of her own. The crop came courtesy of a romance: she met a fourth-generation Dutch tulip grower while on holiday in Ibiza and relocated to the Netherlands, marrying into a farming family whose signature is a double purple tulip the clan spent some fourteen years breeding.
Motivation turned personal when she sought relief for her own eczema-prone skin and began studying the flower's compounds in earnest, work supported by a pair of Dutch government research grants. The result is an unusually literal 'field-to-face' supply chain: the brand upcycles tulips from the family's own fields into its extracts rather than buying anonymous botanical actives, and leans into low-waste touches like wood-based packaging.
The charm is real, and so is the caution. Flower-extract claims are among the hardest in skincare to prove, the supporting science here is largely the brand's own and grant-funded rather than independent peer-reviewed work, and the operation is small and young. Read it as a genuinely original, conscientious, sensorial line with a great backstory, hydration and glow you can believe, not a clinically proven powerhouse.

More about Bloomeffects
Founded in 2019 by Kim van Haaster, Bloomeffects pioneered tulip-derived skincare via its proprietary Dutch Tulip Complex; its efficacy claims rest largely on the brand's own and grant-funded research rather than independent peer-reviewed clinical studies, and the brand has a relatively short track record.
