Luxury anti-ageing cosmeceutical line from French cosmetic doctor Dr. Jean-Louis Sebagh, built around his 'Ageing-Maintenance' philosophy.

The story behind Dr Sebagh Read the full story

Before there was a serum, there was a clinic full of famous faces. Jean-Louis Sebagh earned his medical doctorate from the University of Paris in 1979 and spent roughly fifteen years doing reconstructive work at Paris's Hôpital Foch, rebuilding the faces of cancer patients and treating severe burn scarring, before refining surgical technique in Los Angeles and opening his London practice in 1994. He is widely credited as the first practitioner to administer botulinum toxin in the United Kingdom, and over four decades he became the quietly famous doctor behind a clientele of Hollywood actors, supermodels, royalty, and heads of state, with Cindy Crawford, Elle Macpherson, and Kylie Minogue among the names attached to his name.

The skincare line grew directly out of that clinic. Patients leaving Marylebone wanted to maintain results between visits, and Sebagh's "Ageing-Maintenance" philosophy, the idea that aging is managed incrementally rather than reversed dramatically, lent itself to take-home products. An early hyaluronic acid serum drew on the same molecule he was injecting in-office. The breakthrough product, though, was the Pure Vitamin C Powder Cream: a stabilized vitamin C kept dry as a powder and mixed into a cream base at the moment of use, sidestepping the oxidation that turns most vitamin C serums brown and inert. It became the line's calling card and a template other brands later imitated.

From there the range expanded into cult treatments, the Deep Exfoliating Mask and the Supreme Maintenance Youth Serum among them, accumulating editorial awards across dozens of products. His expertise also reached a mass audience through the Cindy Crawford collaboration Meaningful Beauty. The result is a rare hybrid: a prestige skincare label that is genuinely an extension of a working aesthetic practice rather than a name licensed onto a jar.

Dr Sebagh Serum Repair dropper bottle, a fragrance-free luxury hydrating serum with hyaluronic acid and a collagen-signalling peptide Luxury HA-Peptide Hydrator
Dr Sebagh serum

Serum Repair

Dr Sebagh's Serum Repair is a refreshingly clean, fragrance-free hydration serum — hyaluronic acid, a collagen-signalling peptide, and humectants, nothing else — that plumps beautifully and suits every skin type, including sensitive. The formula is genuinely good and gentle, a welcome contrast to the brand's fragranced Rose de Vie. The one real problem is the luxury price for ingredients you can find for a fraction as much.

Dr Sebagh Rose de Vie Serum dropper bottle, a luxury rosehip facial oil with a soothing anti-redness active for dry skin Luxury Rosehip Oil Serum
Dr Sebagh oil

Rose de Vie Serum

Dr Sebagh's Rose de Vie Serum is a nourishing, silky rosehip-and-botanical facial oil with one genuinely good anti-redness active — and a glaring contradiction. It's sold to calm sensitive, redness-prone skin, yet it's fragranced with rose aroma and the allergens citronellol, geraniol, and linalool. That undercuts its core claim, and at a luxury price for an oil blend, it's hard to recommend over a fragrance-free rosehip oil.

Dr Sebagh Supreme Day Cream jar, a luxury anti-ageing day moisturizer with resveratrol, antioxidants, and light-reflecting pigments Instant-Glow Luxury Day Cream
Dr Sebagh moisturizer

Supreme Day Cream

Dr Sebagh's Supreme Day Cream is a rich, antioxidant-and-humectant day moisturizer with a flattering instant-glow finish — pleasant to use and genuinely nourishing for dry skin. But be clear-eyed: much of its visible 'tightening and glow' is cosmetic blur from light-reflecting pigments, it's fragranced despite marketing suggesting otherwise, and the steep luxury price is very hard to justify against comparable creams.

Dr Sebagh Supreme Maintenance Youth Serum dropper bottle, a luxury fragrance-free anti-aging serum with vitamin C, peptides, and resveratrol Luxury Antioxidant Serum
Dr Sebagh serum

Supreme Maintenance Youth Serum

Dr Sebagh's Supreme Maintenance Youth Serum is a genuinely pleasant, gentle, well-rounded antioxidant-peptide-hydration serum — stable vitamin C, signal peptides, resveratrol, hyaluronic acid, all fragrance-free and easy to wear. The formula is good. The problem is the price: at around $270 for 30ml, you're paying luxury-tier money for actives available in serums costing a fraction as much. Lovely, but impossible to call good value.

Dr Sebagh Deep Exfoliating Mask, a luxury at-home resurfacing mask with lactic and azelaic acids Luxury At-Home Acid Peel
Dr Sebagh exfoliant

Deep Exfoliating Mask

Dr Sebagh's Deep Exfoliating Mask is a genuinely effective at-home resurfacer — lactic and azelaic acids plus a salicylic derivative deliver real, immediate glow and smoother texture. But it makes two avoidable mistakes: it perfumes and synthetically dyes an acid treatment, needlessly raising irritation risk, and it charges a luxury price for actives you can find for far less. Effective, but hard to recommend over a cleaner, cheaper acid mask.
