The name comes from a delicate, starry wildflower that grows across Baltic meadows, and the choice is a thesis statement. Lotte Tisenkopfa-Iltnere spent childhood summers at her grandmother's countryside cottage, foraging herbs and mushrooms and absorbing stories about their healing properties — a memory that became the brand's founding instinct when she set out to build skincare she could actually trust. The underlying conceit is botanical Darwinism: plants forced to survive a punishing northern climate, the thinking goes, develop unusually potent compounds, so the formulas lean on birch sap and water, sea buckthorn, rosehip, fermented botanicals and cold-pressed berry oils harvested from one of the hemisphere's harshest growing regions. What separates this operation from the broader natural-cosmetics crowd is vertical control. The company designs, develops and manufactures everything at its own laboratory and plant near Riga, in Mārupe, running the facility on green electricity — a level of in-house ownership rare for a brand its size, and a deliberate rebuke to the industry habit of outsourcing production and dressing it up as craft. Tisenkopfa-Iltnere earned wider recognition for the effort, landing on Forbes' list of influential businesswomen as far back as 2012. The flagship Time Miracle range anchors the anti-ageing line, including a botanic retinol serum built on a 4% plant-derived retinol-alternative complex paired with northern birch water and hyaluronic acid — pitched as gentler than classic retinol while still nudging collagen and elasticity, and a frequent green-beauty award winner. The honest read: the credibility here is earned through process rather than slogans. Yet 'organic' and 'plant-derived' carry their own quiet caveat — some of skincare's most dependable actives are fully synthetic, and dense botanical blends can occasionally provoke sensitive skin. Read on its own terms, this is a considered, well-built northern European brand that justifies its premium with genuine substance rather than nature-washing.
