The story behind Natura Bissé Read the full story

The whole enterprise hinges on a pair of unusually soft hands. Working at a protein-processing company in late-1970s Catalonia, Ricardo Fisas noticed a colleague who handled amino acids all day had remarkably supple skin. Most people would have shrugged; Fisas dug in, learned that free-form amino acids had a real cosmetic effect, and when economic turmoil shuttered his employer he turned the insight into a business. He and his wife Gloria Vergés started out of an apartment with exactly five creams — one tailored to each skin type — enlisting relatives to sell them door to door.

Rather than fight for department-store shelf space, the couple embedded the brand in the professional spa world, building tight bonds with master aestheticians whose technique became inseparable from the products. That treatment-room DNA still defines the house, and it bred a flair for spectacle: its traveling Pure Air Bubble, an inflatable pod circulating air filtered to near-total purity, debuted in Hollywood in 2008 and turned a pre-awards facial into a red-carpet ritual for performers prepping before a premiere.

The glittering Diamond line, introduced around the turn of the millennium, sealed the luxury reputation and became the catalog's engine, and the house now reaches more than sixty countries. Fisas died in 2012; the second generation runs the still-independent company, alongside a foundation in his name supporting people facing illness and hardship.

The honest read is that this is luxury in the fullest sense — sumptuous textures, an aesthetician-led ritual heritage, and a real founding innovation in amino-acid chemistry that predated much of the field. It is also unmistakably expensive, and as a privately held house much of its efficacy story rests on in-house work and sensory experience rather than large independent trials. For someone who values craft and ceremony, it delivers; on pure evidence-per-dollar, it asks for some trust.

Natura Bissé Diamond Cocoon Hydrating Essence 200ml bottle, a luxury prebiotic hydrating toning essence with inulin, alpha-glucan oligosaccharide, rice ferment and agarikon mushroom extract Prebiotic Hydration Primer
Natura Bissé toner

Diamond Cocoon Hydrating Essence

A surprisingly sensible entry in a famously pricey line: a lightweight prebiotic hydrating essence that genuinely hydrates via glycerin and saccharide isomerate, refreshes with a cool menthyl-lactate finish, and refines pores with agarikon mushroom. The generous 200ml size makes it one of the better-value Diamond Cocoon pieces — just expect subtle balance, not dramatic transformation, and watch the fragrance and cooling agent if you are reactive.

Natura Bissé Diamond Extreme Cream jar, the brand's flagship luxury rich anti-aging moisturizer with shea and mango butters, amaranth seed extract, edelweiss antioxidants and beta-glucan Iconic Luxury Rich Cream
Natura Bissé moisturizer

Diamond Extreme Cream

The cream that built Natura Bissé's luxury reputation is a genuinely sumptuous, deeply cushioning nourisher for dry and depleted skin, with a thoughtful lipid-and-antioxidant deck. But at $425 for 50ml it asks an extraordinary price for ingredients — squalene-rich amaranth, shea and mango butters, beta-glucan, botanical antioxidants — that are excellent yet not exclusive. A glorious indulgence for the right skin and budget; a hard value sell for everyone else.

Natura Bissé Diamond Cocoon Sheer Cream jar, a luxury tinted second-skin day moisturizer with multi-weight hyaluronic acid, peptides, glacial ferment and a sheer mineral veil Luxe Second-Skin Day Cream
Natura Bissé moisturizer

Diamond Cocoon Sheer Cream

A genuinely lovely tinted second-skin day cream that blurs tone, plumps with multi-weight hyaluronic acid and feels like a small luxury ritual. The peptide-and-ferment deck is thoughtful and the finish is flattering — but at $268 for 50ml, with fragrance, beeswax and only a single sheer shade, it is priced as an indulgence, not a value pick. Just remember the mineral veil is not a sunscreen.

Natura Bissé Essential Shock Revolution Pro-Exo Collagen Cream jar Peptide Firming Cream, Exosome Hype
Natura Bissé moisturizer

Essential Shock Revolution Pro-Exo Collagen Cream

Natura Bissé's Essential Shock Revolution Pro-Exo Collagen Cream is a genuinely well-formulated, nourishing, peptide-rich firming cream for mature and menopausal skin — dressed in a trendy 'pro-exosome' headline that overstates part of it. The real substance is solid: proven Matrixyl peptides, niacinamide, a rich amino-acid and NMF hydration complex, nourishing shea and fatty acids, a prebiotic, and a growth-factor-like biotech peptide genuinely hydrate, nourish, and support firmness appearance. The honest caveats: the 'pro-exo/exosome' framing rides a buzzword (no proven topical exosome benefit; it's a synthetic peptide), the collagen and elastin are hydrating not rebuilding, it contains fragrance, and at $165 it's a luxury price. But as a sophisticated peptide firming cream, it's a solid, thoughtful choice.

Natura Bissé C+C Vitamin Complex antioxidant serum, a luxury nourishing multi-form vitamin C treatment with ethyl ascorbic acid, turmeric, rosehip and carotenoid oils and vitamin E Nourishing Multi-Vitamin C Treatment
Natura Bissé serum

C+C Vitamin Complex Antioxidant Serum

A nourishing, emulsion-leaning vitamin C treatment that layers three forms of the vitamin with turmeric, carotenoid oils and vitamin E for a comfortable glow — a smart pick for dry skin that finds watery vitamin C serums stinging or drying. But citrus essential oils, fragrance allergens and a luxury price for 30ml keep it from being a universal recommendation, and oily or reactive skin should look elsewhere.

Natura Bissé Glyco Extreme Peel bottle, a luxury at-home multi-acid resurfacing peel with five AHAs, shikimic and salicylic acids and a desquamation peptide Pro-Style At-Home Acid Peel
Natura Bissé exfoliant

Glyco Extreme Peel

An effective, intelligently layered at-home peel that resurfaces at several depths in one quick treatment — five AHAs plus shikimic and salicylic acids and a desquamation peptide genuinely smooth and brighten. But the alcohol-denat base ranks second on the list, making it drying and unfriendly to sensitive skin, and $295 for 30ml of roughly 5-7% glycolic is a brutal value proposition next to capable multi-acid exfoliants costing a fraction.

More about Natura Bissé

Founded in Barcelona in 1979 and still family-owned, Natura Bissé is a luxury Spanish spa brand built on early free-form amino-acid technology; as a private luxury house its efficacy story rests largely on in-house development and professional-treatment experience rather than large independent clinical trials, and pricing is high.
