Filorga
More about FilorgaThe story behind Filorga Read the full story
Every Filorga cream is, in a sense, a syringe rewritten as a moisturiser. The brand's entire consumer logic is to take what a physician once injected and translate it into something you can smooth on at home, a lineage that explains both its clinical confidence and its premium positioning.
Michel Tordjman was a doctor of aesthetic medicine with a near-evangelical interest in cellular biology, and he built his laboratory to give physicians better tools at a time when the field was still niche. His signature creation was an injectable polyrevitalising solution designed to slow and correct the visible signs of ageing, a mesotherapy product that went on to be dispensed by the millions of vials and became one of the most widely used agents of its kind in professional practice worldwide. That professional credibility, earned in clinics rather than on shelves, is the foundation everything else rests on.
The pivot to the public came through a topical complex that encapsulates a long roster of the active categories used in those injections, hyaluronic acid, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, coenzymes and antioxidants, marketed under a medi-cosmetique banner that explicitly framed the products as the at-home echo of the in-office treatment. Lines like Time-Filler and the NCEF and Hydra-Hyal ranges built on that promise, pairing the medical story with genuinely well-textured, sensorial formulas that earned a devoted following across European and Asian pharmacies and department stores.
The brand's commercial arc is striking for how far it travelled from a single physician's lab: after expanding aggressively into the medi-cosmetic mainstream under new ownership, it eventually drew a major American consumer conglomerate willing to pay a sum that surprised the industry for a house best known for anti-ageing creams. The needle-derived origin is real and does genuine work in the formulas, even as it also does some of the pricing work, framing a polished cosmetic line in the language of the clinic.

More about Filorga
Founded in 1978 by aesthetic-medicine physician Dr.
Michel Tordjman as France's first aesthetic-medicine laboratory; its consumer skincare derives from its injectable mesotherapy heritage, and the brand was acquired by Colgate-Palmolive in 2019. Its topical products are cosmetics rather than clinically validated treatments.
