The story behind Lagom Read the full story

Founder Ham Jung Han was watching the wrong problem get worse. He saw Korean shoppers piling product on product, chasing trends through eight, ten, twelve steps, and reaching for ever-stronger actives that, in his reading, raised the odds of irritation rather than results. His fix was a refusal to over-formulate. He frames the line's guiding idea not as minimizing ingredients but as optimizing them: use the few that earn their place, leave out the ones added for marketing, and tune the result to behave across a wide spread of ages and skin types throughout North Asia. That thinking is why the Cellup Gel to Water Cleanser became the brand's calling card and its very first product. It is a dual-phase formula that begins as a gel and breaks into water on contact, engineered for a morning wash that lifts the night's residue without dragging moisture out of the skin alongside it. The architecture of the catalog reinforces the message. Han organized it into compact families rather than an ever-expanding wall of SKUs, with the Cellup collection handling the cleansing and prep steps and the Cellus side carrying hydration and barrier comfort. Each grouping stays deliberately small, and the brand resists chasing whatever ingredient is trending that season, which is itself an unusual posture in a market built on novelty. The approach has aged well as consumers tire of complexity and start asking what every step in their routine is actually doing. What you do not get is a stable of high-potency correctors; this is a foundation, not a treatment arsenal, and someone fighting stubborn pigmentation or active breakouts will need targeted help from elsewhere. Read on its own terms, though, the line keeps its promise: enough, done carefully, and nothing extra.

Lagom Cellus Refining Purple Serum 35ml bottle Fragrance-Free Azelaic Serum
Lagom serum

Cellus Refining Purple Serum

The standout of Lagom's lineup, and a genuinely good serum: a fragrance-free azelaic acid treatment — azelaic being a gentle, derm-favorite multitasker for redness, rosacea, acne and uneven tone — buffered with ceramide NP, panthenol and antioxidants. It's broadly suitable, sensitive and pregnant skin included, and finally a Lagom product without the fragrance caveat. The minor catches: azelaic's occasional mild tingle, a base that isn't fungal-acne safe, and the 'purple' being purely cosmetic (vitamin B12).

Lagom Cellus Sun Gel 50ml tube Lightweight Chemical Sun Gel
Lagom sunscreen

Cellus Sun Gel

A lightweight chemical sun gel with a genuinely good broad-spectrum filter combination — avobenzone stabilized by octocrylene, plus photostable Tinosorb S — in a fast-drying, no-white-cast gel oily skin will like. But it undercuts itself badly with two choices: a high alcohol-denat content that can dry and sting, and a heavy essential-oil blend including phototoxic bergamot, which is the most ironic possible inclusion in a sunscreen. Good filters, poor formulation around them.

Lagom Micro Pore Cleansing Oil 200ml pump bottle Pore-Clearing Cleansing Oil
Lagom cleanser

Micro Pore Cleansing Oil

An emulsifying cleansing oil with a genuine pore-clearing twist — capryloyl salicylic acid, a gentle lipophilic BHA — that dissolves makeup and sunscreen, rinses clean and non-greasy, and nudges at blackheads and congestion, with soothing botanicals alongside. It's a thoughtful first-cleanse for oily, congestion-prone skin. The honest caveats: added fragrance, a BHA that does only mild pore work in a rinse-off, and oils that make it not fungal-acne safe.

Lagom Cellus Deep Moisture Cream 50ml Rich Barrier Cream
Lagom moisturizer

Cellus Deep Moisture Cream

A genuinely good rich barrier-and-NMF cream at its core — ceramide 3, phytosphingosine, an amino-acid/urea complex and polyglutamic acid nourish and seal dry skin well. But it's seriously undercut by a very heavy essential-oil blend that includes balsam of Peru, one of the most common fragrance contact allergens, plus multiple citrus oils. The good core is wrapped in an allergen load that makes it risky for sensitive or reactive skin.

Lagom Cellus Mild Moisture Cream 50ml Lighter Soothing Moisturizer
Lagom moisturizer

Cellus Mild Moisture Cream

A pleasant, lighter soothing moisturizer with genuine calming botanicals — centella, green tea, beta-glucan — and comfortable NMF hydration for normal-to-combination skin, less occlusive than the brand's Deep cream. The honest contradiction is in its name: 'Mild' is undercut by a heavy aromatherapy essential-oil blend (lavender, bergamot, rose, sandalwood, myrrh) that raises irritation risk and makes it a poor fit for the sensitive skin the name implies.

Lagom Cellus Mist Toner 120ml bottle Citrus Hydrating Toner
Lagom toner

Cellus Mist Toner

A pleasant, lightweight hydrating mist-toner with green tea and panthenol — fine as a fresh hydrating layer, but unremarkable beyond that. Its defining feature, and its problem, is a citrus essential-oil blend (bergamot, lemon, mandarin, orange) that gives the scent and carries photosensitivity concerns, making it a questionable choice in a daytime toner and a poor fit for sensitive or sun-exposed skin. The hydration is basic; the citrus oils are the real caveat.

Lagom Cellus Revive Essence Toner 150ml bottle Hydrating Essence-Toner
Lagom toner

Cellus Revive Essence Toner

A genuinely more substantive essence-toner than the brand's mist — adenosine, a collagen-supporting peptide and multi-weight hyaluronic acid give real hydrating-and-smoothing substance, leaving skin plumped and soft. But it's significantly undercut by a heavy aromatherapy essential-oil blend (lavender, geranium, bergamot, rose, sandalwood, myrrh) that overshadows the actives and adds sensitization and photosensitivity risk, ruling it out for sensitive or sun-exposed skin.

Lagom Cellus Sensitive Cica Cream 60ml Fragrance-Free Cica Cream
Lagom moisturizer

Cellus Sensitive Cica Cream

The genuinely gentle standout of Lagom's lineup: a fragrance-free soothing-and-barrier cream with a full centella complex at 5,000ppm, an unusually high 7% panthenol, and a ceramide-cholesterol barrier trio plus calming botanicals. It calms, hydrates and repairs sensitive, reactive and compromised skin with very low irritation risk — finally a Lagom cream without the fragrance caveat. The only real catches are that it isn't vegan (beeswax, cholesterol) or fungal-acne safe, and it's a touch rich for oily skin.

Lagom Collagen Lifting Neck Cream 50ml Neck & Décolleté Firming Cream
Lagom moisturizer

Collagen Lifting Neck Cream

A dedicated neck-and-décolleté firming cream that backs its 'collagen lifting' name with genuine actives — niacinamide and adenosine — plus an amino-acid complex, ceramide and squalane for the often-neglected, thinner neck skin, often with a massage roller. The honest limits: the 'lifting collagen' is surface plumping and a firmer look, not a true lift or dermal rebuild; it's fragranced (bergamot, clary); and it isn't vegan (collagen extract).

Lagom Cellup Gel To Water Cleanser 220 mL tube Gentle Daily Cleanser With a Texture Trick
Lagom cleanser

Cellup Gel To Water Cleanser

An exceptionally gentle daily cleanser whose gel-to-water transformation makes mildness feel like a feature instead of a compromise. The pH-5.5 base, soothing humectants and low-detergent chemistry are excellent; the strong essential-oil scent and the need for a second cleanse partner at night are the meaningful caveats.

Lagom Cellup Micro Cleansing Water 350ml bottle Hydrating Micellar Water
Lagom cleanser

Cellup Micro Cleansing Water

A hydrating, oil-infused micellar cleansing water that removes makeup and grime gently while conditioning — micro-fermented argan, olive and camellia oils, a peptide and a soothing herb complex leave skin soft and non-tight rather than stripped, in a generous 350ml size. It's more moisturizing than a bare micellar water. The honest caveat: despite 'allergen-free' marketing, it contains added fragrance and lavender, so it's not right for genuinely sensitive or fragrance-reactive skin.

Lagom Cellup Micro Foam Cleanser 120 mL tube True-Soap Foam, Softened
Lagom cleanser

Cellup Micro Foam Cleanser

A deliberately old-school true-soap foam cleanser, softened by glycerin, urea and amphoteric co-surfactants into an unusually dense microbubble lather. Excellent as a second cleanse for oily skin; the pH 9 base and aggressive botanical fragrance make it a poor choice for dry, sensitive or fragrance-reactive users.

Lagom Cellus Aqualane Solution 50ml bottle Hydrating-Firming Serum
Lagom serum

Cellus Aqualane Solution

A lightweight hydrating-and-firming serum with genuine, if gentle, actives — adenosine, an antioxidant peptide and a touch of squalane — that leaves skin soft and hydrated and offers mild smoothing over time. It's a pleasant, easy-layering serum. The honest caveats: the 'Aqualane' name oversells the squalane (it sits low in the list), and a citrus-and-lavender fragrance raises irritation and photosensitivity concerns, keeping it from sensitive skin.

Lagom White Kaolin Mud Mask 110ml Balanced Clay Mask
Lagom mask

White Kaolin Mud Mask

A better-than-average clay mask: three absorbent clays for oil and pores, a gentle AHA/BHA/PHA blend and niacinamide for light refining, and — unusually — cica, houttuynia, ceramide and hyaluronic acid to keep it from stripping. It clarifies and mattifies oily, congestion-prone skin while staying comparatively comfortable. The honest caveats are added fragrance, a base that isn't fungal-acne safe, and the usual clay-mask need to not over-use it.

Lagom Niacin Hydro Serum 50ml bottle Niacinamide Hydration Serum

Niacin Hydro Serum

A genuinely well-built 5% niacinamide serum: probiotic ferments, a multi-weight hyaluronic acid complex, ceramide NP and zinc PCA make it a complete tone, pore, hydration and barrier formula, not just a niacinamide solution. It's effective and broadly useful for combination and oily skin. The clear caveat is the fragrance plus fragrant herbs (lavender, peppermint, rosemary), which raise irritation risk and undercut the gentle actives for sensitive skin.

Lagom Cellus White Moisture Cream 50ml Niacinamide Brightening Cream
Lagom moisturizer

Cellus White Moisture Cream

A niacinamide-based brightening moisturizer with genuine NMF hydration — niacinamide evens tone while an amino-acid/urea complex hydrates, on a comfortable shea-and-silicone base, with 'White' meaning brightening, not bleaching. The clear caveat is the same heavy aromatherapy essential-oil blend (lavender, bergamot, rose, sandalwood, myrrh) plus peppermint as the brand's other creams, which raises irritation and photosensitivity risk and rules it out for sensitive skin.

Lagom Cellup pH Cure Foam Cleanser 120ml tube Gentle Low-pH Foam
Lagom cleanser

Cellup pH Cure Foam Cleanser

A genuinely gentle, low-pH (around 5.5) foaming cleanser built on mild syndet surfactants rather than a stripping soap base — it cleanses thoroughly, rinses soft and non-tight, and suits most skin types, including dry, sensitive and barrier-conscious daily use. It's the gentle one in Lagom's lineup, and a model of how a foam cleanser should be made. The one real caveat is the added fragrance, which keeps it from being perfect for the most reactive skin.
