A good plumping mask with an ambitious ingredient list and a firming promise it cannot keep.

A very good scalp cooler wearing the wrong name: ethanol second, menthol, peppermint, cornmint and camphor deliver a bracing three-degree chill that degreases and de-itches an oily scalp in seconds, with a trace of salicylic acid and a set of pine, reishi, kelp and willow botanicals behind it. The centella that makes it 'cica' is declared at parts per million, the alcohol and mint make it a stimulant rather than a soother, and a dry, flaky or irritated scalp will sting. For oily summer scalps at $18 it earns its place; for the calming it promises, it is the opposite product.

Its four monograph filters are all UVB-leaning with no dedicated long-UVA filter, its PDRN and nine hyaluronates are the marketing of the moment, and two essential oils sit in an eye-safe claim. Months old and fairly priced; a very good daily sunscreen for normal and combination skin, and a compromise the label does not advertise.
