The fascination came first, long before any laboratory. Raised by a pharmacist who steeped her in the scents and properties of plants, Aliza Jabès grew up reading botany the way other children read storybooks, and that early imprint shaped everything she would later build. When she took over the Parisian formulation lab, she did not simply rebrand it; she rebuilt it around research, recruiting specialists in botany, galenics, and emulsion science and treating plant chemistry as a discipline rather than a marketing flourish.
The multitasking dry oil was conceived from a working mother's frustration with multi-step routines, but the deeper innovation was the texture: getting purely vegetal oils to absorb without leaving a slick film required real galenic problem-solving, and that fast-drying finish became the template the whole catalog would follow. The honey lip balm grew from a similar instinct toward repair, and a richer face cream rounded out a trio that French pharmacy shoppers came to treat as staples.
From that single laboratory, the company climbed to become one of France's largest dermo-cosmetic groups and the leading natural-origin name in pharmacies across Europe, with strongholds in Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Belgium. Jabès widened the universe beyond skincare into fragrance, launching a perfume built around the signature oil's warm scent in 2012 and a floral reinterpretation of the oil in 2019, then opened a flagship Paris boutique and introduced a higher-concept serum as the brand matured past its thirtieth year.
What distinguishes the house is consistency of intent: it has stayed plant-forward and sensorial across decades, resisting the pull toward clinical-actives positioning even as the wider market chased it. The result is a catalog where the craft and fragrance carry as much weight as the active percentages, and where longevity, not laboratory trials, is the proof on offer.

Its reputation rests on sensorial, plant-based formulation and decades of commercial success rather than on extensive published independent clinical trials.
